Manatee stomach contents and feces from the central Amazon region, Brazil, contained 24 species of aquatic plants but were dominated by Gramineae, especially Paspalum repens and Echinochloa polystachya. At high water, with vegetation more abundant, animals fed more selectively, and in general favored emergent plants. | ||
