Oct. 1958. –Reports "teeth of a sea cow and a ray and some bone fragments of turtles, catfish, and bony pikes ... associated with the valves of Ostrea normalis.... Sea cows and rays lived near the oysters and fed on them" (160-161). This Late Miocene "sea cow" was the "?Desmostylus" reported by Stenzel et al. (1944). Reinhart (1976: 286-287) identified the tooth fragments as proboscidean. | ||
