–Biographical sketch of Dr. William Hobbs. P. 282: {"Dr. Hobbs did much to introduce dugong oil as a substitute for cod liver oil, using it in all the diseases for which the latter long held reputation. He published a lecture on dugong oil under the title "Elaiopathy," to which reference is made in Lang's "Queensland." (Spongiopiline soaked in dugong oil was a favourite treatment for phthisis with Dr. Hobbs.)"} As far as I can determine, Hobbs' lecture "Elaiopathy" was published only in a newspaper, the Melbourne Argus, Sept. 19, 1857.
